About AIESEC LC Skopje Local Committee Skopje
AIESEC in Skopje first existed under AIESEC Yugoslavia in 1953. In 1993, AIESEC Yugoslavia divided into separate entities, thus beginning the legacy of what is now called AIESEC in the Republic of Macedonia and its one sub entity LC Skopje. It all started with one committee in Skopje, and now has grown into three local committees and two initiative groups. Since its beginning, AIESEC in the Republic of Macedonia has cooperated with more than 500 Macedonian and international companies and organizations. It has also realized over 500 internships in Macedonian companies in addition to sending 500 Macedonian students to gain international work experience abroad. In its history, AIESEC in the Republic of Macedonia has comprised of over 300 alumni, including prominent national and international individuals such as Dr. Taki Fiti (Professor at the Faculty of Economics in the University of Skopje), Srgjan Kerim (Former UN ambassador for Macedonia), Gjorgi Janchevski (General Manager of Tutunska Banka) etc. A big part of the activities and results of AIESEC in Macedonia ever since its beginnings have been carried by LC Skopje. Today AIESEC Skopje has around 50 active members which are mainly allocated in projects working around certain issues. The projects in this year are around the issues of Entrepreneurship, HIV/AIDS and Unemployment.
You can learn more about AIESEC on our national web site www.aiesec.org.mk Why the members of LC Skopje LOVE AIESEC Marjan Bonev, Career Days 2009 - Organization Committee PresidentAs a high school student I have heard about AIESEC and I was waiting to start my university so I can join those freaks ;) Why? – Simple answer: Why NOT... To experience unique, called AIESEC culture, to implement all my previous working experience and knowledge gained during my volunteering in other NGOs, also to gain some new always welcome experience, ideas, to meet some new friends, old friends, girlfriends all around the world... and most of all the desire of facing with culture shocks ;P Magdalena Cimbirovska, Career Days 2009 - Marketing Team LeaderSo many people walk around with a meaningless life. They seem half asleep, even when they are busy doing things they think are important. This is because they're chasing the wrong things. The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning. I joined AIESEC in October 2007 without any doubt. Why?! It's because it makes you live with passion! It challenges you with every day, every meeting, every task, every conference, every experience you have… It bonds you to fabulous people, each of them weird in their own magnificent way and in the end, it makes you reinvent everything you might ever take for granted! AIESEC can be a virus that starts an epidemic of positive change, it can be the pool of sparks that light an internal self-sustainable fire, it can be fashion and beauty or it can be the organization that creates a butterfly effect to make a difference. This is for me the beauty of this organization… You did not have to be somebody to join it. You did not have to spend a fortune to participate in its activities. All you need is a will to want to learn and develop and a passion to the organization and what we do!!! When I joined AIESEC in 2008 I just loved the energy. That was the first place where everyone are equal and everyone can implement their ideas. In this little head of mine there are ideas that can change the world, ideas that can make our society better place to live, and AIESEC is the organization that can fulfill this ideas. The cheer full faces that I meat all the time makes me think that joining AIESEC was a step ahead to change the society :) Stefani Pandilova, Career Days 2009 - MarketingI became part of AIESEC because I always had the feeling I could do more, for me and for others. I had this energy that needed a place to unfold, a place where I could learn more and grow more. And that place was AIESEC. It is challenging me to develop, it is a passion for achieving greater things in life and a belief to change myself and the society we live in. It bonds you to so many amazing people, with who is a pleasure to work with. I just love the spirit of the organisation. I am proud and happy to be part of AIESEC :D:D:D Ognena Ristovska, Career Days 2009 - External Relations Team LeaderWhy I love AIESEC? It makes me beleve I can change the world :) It has given me the chance to meet great, extraordinary people, the opportunity to work hard with them, and the opportunity to have the craziest nights in my life with them :) I love it because it has given me the opportunity to be something more, the opportunity to achieve more than average. I love it because it because it gave me a whole new perspective on things, on life, on what I can do with my life. Now I know, I can do greater things, as I had allways hoped for. Or at least, I have the confidence to believe that. Proud to say I’m an AIESECer :) First time I saw something about AIESEC were those posters in my university. I knew I had to do something else except my studies, but also very important for my future career, so AIESEC is giving to me that chance. I joined AIESEC because of the wonderful people inside of the organizations and i know that we will help each other someday in the future. Second, AIESEC offers some studies and skills that you can’t gather with the usual studies or everyday courses, like studying English for example. In the end, I see that this organization offers international traveling and giving the chance to experience something outside your country, such as international business, different culture, different thinking etc. However, I’d say: I don’t regret about becoming a member of AIESEC. Jasmina Ilioska, Career Days 2008 - Vise President for Human Resources I joined AIESEC in October 2005 and with only 6 months in the organization I became part of the Leadership Body, leading Local Committee Skopje as Vice President Marketing. I remember how many doubts and fears I had before I decided to apply, but that experience enabled me to learn and develop a lot. During these 3 years I've worked on different projects and in different functional areas such as: Career Days '06 as part of the Marketing Team Alumni Task Force that was creating the Alumni Strategy, Organizing Committee of our Leadership Development Seminar – MILDS, Reception Body - responsible for the reception of interns coming in Macedonia, and a lot more… Currently I am working as Local Committee Vice President Talent Management and HR responsible for Career Days 08 which is adding more value to my AIESEC Experience. The only thing that I would like to add is that AIESEC enabled me to discover myself as well as develop in a person with wider horizons, helped me to upgrade my knowledge and more importantly prepare me for the things that are about to come in life. I'm proud to say "I'm an AIESECer!!!" Marina Stosik, Career Days 2008 - External Relations Being an AIESECer means been part of group of young motivated people, striving to create something for themselves and for the environment around them. It is really great to be surrounded by motivated people, feel their dedication and aim towards a goal that everyone believes in. The best thing is that you know that those goals are shared by 28 000 people in the world. It is like one big family you can always turn to. My practical experience abroad and getting to know the AIESEC culture there made me like and respect the organization even more, as I saw the common things we share with the young people from different countries and nations. Working on Career Days is a great experience too, and it is really fulfilling to know that we, as students, do something for the other students, for us…It's up to us what we want to do and how we will spend our time and energy. For those that want to work on developing themselves and taste the practical world, during the studies, AIESEC offers the opportunity, the platform. It is left on YOU how much you like to taste it :) Viktor Dinevski, Career Days 2008 - Vise President for External RelationsBumping into AIESEC accidentally I had to face a distinctive new culture of working and thinking. Thinking back now, joining the biggest international youth development platform was the best move I have done in my life! Expanding my network of friends, professional contacts and getting job offers is just a facade of the unique experience that involves personal discovery, internationalism, cultural sensitivity and energetic business spirit. Because of all this, I take enormous pride in saying that I AM AN AIESECer!!! Leading AIESEC in Skopje, an entity that is result oriented, filled with energetic people and fully dedicated into having a positive impact towards results is the culmination of what I have gotten out of AIESEC. Or maybe not? ;) Martina Tevceva, Career Days 2008 - Vise President for CommunicationsAIESEC is a diverse environment where I enjoy learning about different cultures, meeting people from all over the world and expanding my worldview. It provides me with unique opportunities that help me develop new skills and achieve cultural awareness. I believe individuals should develop and use their leadership skills and a global perspective to increase international understanding and cooperation and make the world a better place. I heard about AIESEC when I started my studies but because of my personal reasons (stupid for me now) I didn't become member. The first contact with AIESEC I had when I was 3rd year, passing by coincidence before @ office, I saw one friend of mine who was member, in joke I said: I want to go abroad .And than she said no problem, we have now such a project. From that moment I started to involve in AIESEC activities proactively. From my experience till now in @ I can say that I have learned a lot, many opportunities I got from the membership, mainly from the internship I found in Poland for 2 months, which for me was first working experience + foreign country, another culture, different people, different ways of working, thinking. Furthermore I participated on 2 seminars, BITES and Career Days 2007 from which I learned many things, especially on the educational seminar, as well as the gained reward – free training from Cosmofon for Presentation skills. This would never happened if I wasn't in AIESEC.But, these were only participations. This year I decided to take part of the organization of these projects and to be part of the group consisted of motivated students. This seemed very attractive and exciting to me. Of course I didn't make a mistake. Currently , I am working on Career Days '08 I and can say we are trying very hard and giving our best to make this event best till now. So, my advice is NOBODY TO HAVE A DOUBT TO APPLY. DO SOMETHING THAT WILL DIFFERENTIATE FROM THE OTHERS – BE AN AIESECER! Iskra Rizovska, Career Days 2008 - Human Resources I cherish the moment and joined AIESEC in October 2007. Till now I was provided by experience with an extraordinary blend of theory, research, and practice. I’m striving for top successful leadership position in Talent Management and Finance area. Follow your dreams, see yourself in the future. I believe in me, I believe in AIESEC! Katerina Jovanova, Career Days 2008 - CommunicationsWhen I first heard for AIESEC I was in high school, and it was something for exchange. I asked my self what was that? When I joined AIESEC in 2007, I realized that is much more than learning in practice and achievement skills… It is truly prestige to be part of AIESEC! Learn more about AIESEC! www.aiesec.org.mk |
